Work and Designs

I believe designs should be approachable to those who are new to experiencing visual media in a live setting, but also spectacular enough to bring something new to the experience for those who are more seasoned industry members.

Paint is how we decorate a surface, music is how we decorate time, and theatre is how we decorate space. There is beauty in the lasting pieces, but there is a transcendental quality to each show being different, and at some point, no longer being available.

Design Philosophy

Dan is a multidisciplinary designer who focuses on collaboration, experimentation, and using the space to its full potential. I aim to provide safe and effective working environments and cutting edge, immersive designs. He graduated with a B.F.A in theatre design and technology from Avila University, then stayed in the Kansas City area to work professionally in theatres large and small. There was a large period of travel roughly five years after graduating where he worked in theatres across the country to expand his horizon and work with all kinds of new people. Safety is paramount to him, and creating an environment where people can feel safe in both their ideas and the execution of them is his top priority.

Art is not only found on stage, though. Dan currently works at Kiewit Engineering as an electrical designer to support the safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of large scale industrial projects.
